Description: This is a 3-day class presenting the software functionality and programming model of the MC68000 family of microprocessors. The course consists of lectures, exercises, and labs.

The course covers the programming model, data types, instruction set, addressing modes, exception processing, and an overview of the caches and memory management unit in 020/030/040.

Objectives:
  • Identify different features of all the members of the MC68K family.
  • Write assembly programs for MC68K processors
  • Write exception handler routines
  • Write programs to control the cache features
  • Write programs to set up the memory management unit
Prerequisites: A basic understanding of microprocessor systems and assembly language is required.
