Description: This is a 4-day class covering the hardware and software aspects of the C-Port devices (C-5e, M-5, and C-3e). This class consists of lecture, lab, and exercises.

Topics included are C-5e Architecture, Executive Processor Unit, Fabric Processor Unit, Table Lookup Unit, Buffer Management Unit, Queue Management Unit, CST tools, and application mapping process.

Objectives:
  • Understand the functionality of C-5e and its components
  • Understand and use of CST tool set
  • Understand Ucode language
  • How to map an application on C-5e
  • Hardware Considerations
  • Understand the use and programming of Fabric Processor, Executive Processor, Buffer Management Unit, Queue Management Unit, and M-5 Channel Adapter
  • Differences between C-5e and C-3e
Prerequisites: Software and hardware understanding of advanced microprocessor concepts is recommended.

Important Requirement: All attendees are required to obtain a copy of the CST Tool Set Evaluation license and download the tool set from C-Port site. This is part of the registration process. To obtain the license and the tool set, visit the C-Port site at:
